Do you have a young child that tends to wander? The Child Locator will bring peace of mind in two ways.
- You can locate your child in a crowd with the touch of a button
- You will be alerted if your child wanders away from you - if they go beyond approximately 7.5 metres to 9 metres from you.
So how does it work?
Your child wears a plastic blue teddy bear on their belt or shoe (it is approx 7 cm by 5.5cm)and you have a blue transmitter with a key ring that you can have on your main key ring, or hooked onto your belt. If you simply temporarily lose sight of your child you can press the keychain transmitter and the teddy bear on your child will chirp.
The chirping noise will get louder as you get closer to your child helping you find them. What also tends to happen is when your child hears the chirping noise they will learn that Mummy or Daddy is looking for them and they will seek you out or ask for help.
As we have mentioned if your child wanders away more than about 7 - 9 metres you will automatically be alerted by a loud (88 decibels) intermittant chirping sound from your transmitter. If you cannot immediately see your child you press the button on your transmitter and the teddy bear on your child will chirp to help you locate them.
The transmitter is very light and compact (approx 7cm x 4cm x 1.5 cm).
This device is great for when you are out shopping, at the zoo, airport or public events. We would recommend you combine this with one of our child ID or medical bracelets that will have their name and your contact details on the inside of the bracelet.
The transmitter and teddy bear units are both water resistant and come complete with batteries. When you need replacement batteries these are widely available in New Zealand and Australia.
Please note the Child Locator is not meant to be a substitute for close parental supervision.
